Investing in our Communities

Some of our communities are thriving while others struggle with empty stores, crumbling roads and crime. Yet we know that smart, targeted public investments can turn around troubled areas. I’ve helped direct our precious public dollars to projects that have made real differences – North Main Village in Milwaukie, rebuilding Division Street in Gresham and the waterfront in Oregon City, the street car on Portland’s eastside, as well as Main Street in Cornelius…

Protecting Nature

Clean air, clean water, green places we can go to relax or play – they’re our birthright as Oregonians. In 2006 I helped pass the largest bond measure in history to buy natural areas critical to protecting our air and water quality, in addition to providing wildlife habitat. Combined with common sense protections of streams and riverbanks, we can continue to enjoy nature in our communities…
