An endorsement from Oregon Wild Conservation Leaders Fund
Applauding my record as “…a constant champion for conservation of Oregon’s federal public lands, waters and wildlife,” the Oregon Wild Conservation Leaders Fund has just endorsed my candidacy for Metro President.
The Oregon Wild Conservation Leaders Fund is a wonderful organization devoted to protecting Oregon’s wild lands and rivers, and it goes without saying that I am deeply honored to have its endorsement.
Like you, I take great pride in calling this region home. For over 30 years I have fought to preserve the Oregon we love. In 2006, I helped pass the largest bond measure in history to buy natural areas critical to protecting our air and water quality as well as wildlife habitat. Through my work at Metro, I also helped purchase over 10,000 acres of natural areas, and invest over 20 million dollars into local parks projects, connecting people to nature throughout the region.
Combined with common sense protections of streams and riverbanks, I’m confident we can continue to enjoy nature in and around our communities — something I’ll only magnify my energy on accomplishing as Metro President. Combined with the leadership of visionary organizations like the Oregon Wild Conservation Leaders Fund, I can’t wait to see what we can achieve.
Oregon Wild Conservation Leaders Fund PAC is pleased to announce its endorsement of Rex Burkholder, a constant champion for conservation of Oregon’s federal public lands, waters and wildlife.
Oregon Wild Conservation Leaders Fund (formerly ONRC Action) is devoted to protecting the wildlands, wildlife, and wild rivers that make Oregon such a special place. The Oregon Wild Conservation Leaders Fund is a non-partisan organization dedicated to the conservation goals of Oregon Wild and to the election of qualified candidates who will advance the protection and restoration of Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife and waters. Oregon Wild Conservation Leaders Fund’s Political Action Committee evaluates and recommends candidates for endorsement.
Oregon Wild Conservation Leaders Fund PAC is primarily concerned with conservation issues that involve federal public lands, wildlife, and healthy rivers and watersheds. Local, county and state office holders are important opinion leaders who help determine how these critical natural resources are protected and/or managed. While not focused on regional transportation issues, Oregon Wild Conservation Leaders Fund is pleased with Rex Burkholder’s recent support of local leaders’ position requesting that the governors of Oregon and Washington “re-vision” the entire Columbia River Crossing project with an eye to environmental and cost concerns.
